So Long, Seosan

My short stay in the countryside of Seoul, a city called Seosan, has come to an end. It has been a wonderful start to our trip and has prepared my heart for the things to come. The neighborhood we stayed in is a tight-knit group of precious Christian families who share a love for Jesus and a passion to serve their church. It has been amazing to see their servant's hearts as they have so graciously hosted us for the past few days. Several families served as hosts, tour guides, and cooks for us as they gave us a taste of the Korean culture.

A summary of a few of the places we've visited in the past few days:

1. Dream Beach, which is a national park area and a lively hangout spot for Korean families. 

2. A privately owned island outside Seoul, rich in Asian landscapes and tropical scenery.

3. A Korean culture festival- here, we tried a Korean rice cake treat and a rice tea and played an old game similar to horseshoes (only much harder). The festival grounds had replicas of ancient Korean architecture, and people were even dressed up to simulate the old Korean traditions. 

We even witnessed a tight-rope walker who showed off his fancy skills!!

As if I hadn't been blessed enough by the people of Seosan, I was able to hang out with the middle/high school and college-aged kids at the church last night to fellowship with them. Their inquisitive spirits brought so much joy to my heart, and we were even able to help them learn a new song in English! 

These are some of the precious students who I got to spend time with. They were so sweet and wanted to take so many pictures with us.
